Description

The Epiphone J-200™ Studio is part of the all-new Epiphone Studio Acoustic Collection. These guitars have been completely reimagined to offer the most authentic and affordable acoustic guitars inspired by iconic Gibson designs. The J-200 Studio offers a blend of classic design and modern functionality and was designed to appeal equally to beginners and seasoned players alike. Based on the classic Gibson SJ-200, “The King of the Flat-Tops,” the J-200 Studio has a Super Jumbo body and a 25.5″ scale length, just like the Gibson model that inspired it. The J-200 Studio delivers a warm, rich tone with exceptional clarity, making it ideal for a wide range of musical styles.

The J-200 Studio has a layered maple body with four-ply binding on the top, single-ply binding on the back, fretboard, and headstock, and a solid spruce top for a responsive, balanced tone with excellent dynamic range that will sound even better as it ages. The mahogany neck is joined to the body with a glued-in tapered dovetail neck-to-body joint and features a 1960s SlimTaper™ D profile that ensures comfortable playability. The neck is topped with a rosewood fretboard equipped with 20 standard frets and dressed up with pearloid graduated crown inlays. The other ends of the strings are routed over a compensated plastic saddle and are anchored to the Moustache™ rosewood bridge with ivory bridge pins with black dots. The iconic Moustache bridge is dressed up with four pearloid inlays.

Epiphone also included other details that give the J-200 Studio even more vintage-style visual appeal, including a classic J-200 style tortoise shell-colored pickguard with the legendary two-color J-200 graphics, Epiphone Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, and a bound 60s Kalamazoo-style headstock with the Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown proudly displayed in mother of pearl. The J-200 Studio comes with Fishman® electronics, including an S-Core under-saddle pickup and Fishman Presys™ VT preamp with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls that are quick and easy to access for the player while being nearly invisible to the audience.

The Epiphone J-200 Studio has a gloss finish and is offered in two vintage-inspired colors-Natural and Vintage Sunburst. Both right and left-handed versions are available. A standard gig bag is also included.

Epiphone

Epiphone: Over 140 Years Epiphone is one of American's oldest and most revered instrument makers. Since 1873, Epiphone has made instruments for every style of popular music and in 2013 celebrated its 140th anniversary. The name Epiphone evokes both history and the spirit of invention. The “House of Stathopoulo” has played a central role in every great musical era from the mandolin craze of the early 1900s to jazz age guitars of the 1920s; from swing era archtops through post-war pop, jazz, r&b, and early rock n' roll; and from the "British Invasion" to heavy metal, punk, grunge, and thrash. And now, in the 21st century, new Epiphone technical breakthroughs such as the ProBucker™ pickup, series parallel switching, built-in KillSwitch™ pots, the Shadow NanoFlex™ and NanoMag™ pickup systems, and premier acoustic/electric guitars with the eSonic™ preamp have brought Epiphone to a new generation.
